CBD in Europe comes from the hemp plant due to strict laws on THC content. However, in other countries and US states where cannabis is legal for recreational or medical use, CBD oil can also be made from the cannabis plant. This CBD oil is usually very high in THC content and therefore is both illegal in the UK and psychoactive.
UK and EU users should always take care to only purchase legal CBD oil made from industrial hemp.
